Damp houses create perfect environments for mould and dust mites to grow. The health impacts of this can vary but can include asthma, headaches, fatigue, coughing, sneezing, dizziness, and irritation of the eyes, nose, throat and skin.

Cold, damp conditions are not just a factor for older homes. New truss and frame homes usually achieve a 2-3 Homestar rating and can still have levels of cold and dampness because they are not airtight and have many thermal bridging points.
